Covington - John S. Warrick, 72, of Covington died at 5:24 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been in ill health for about one year and had been a hospital patient for six days. Mr. Warrick had retired in 1969 after 25 years of employment with Detroit Diesel, Allison Division, General Motors Corp at Indianapolis. He was a resident of the Indianapolis-Brownsburg area for 30 years before moving to Covington in 1971. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Speedway Masonic Lodge 729 and a past member of Indianapolis Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. Born July 6, 1907, he was the son of John U. and Ella Hoagland Warrick. On April 16, 1934, he was married at Dana to the former Ida Clawson who survives. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mr. Warrick was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in DeVerter Funeral Home at Covington with Rev. Edgar F. Allen officiating. Burial will bein Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
