LEBANON-Otis A. Ward, 84, of 517 N. Lebanon St., who farmed 25 years north of Lebanon on the Elm Swamp Road, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday in the English Nursing Home here. He was a native of Boone County, born near Thorntown on April 28, 1886 to Ambrose and Hulda Flaningam Ward. He was married March 1, 1911 to Helen Winters Millikan, who died April 8, 1950. Surviving are two sons, Stephen of Rt. 3, Lebanon and John of Indianapolis; four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Mildred) Davis of Rt. 2, Kirklin, Mrs. Harold E. (Martha) Long of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Wendell (Geneva) Perkins of Rt. 3, Lebanon, and Mrs. Russell (Louise) Perkins of Medway, Ohio; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. V. J. Boyd of Carmel, Mrs. Adah Wolfe of Indianapolis and Mrs. Paul Cross and Mrs. L. O. Slagle of Lebanon. Two sisters, Hilda and Pearl Ward, are deceased. Mr. Ward attended Thorntown High School and farmed most of his life in Boone and Hendricks County. He raised Angus cattle. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon, with burial in Maple Lawn Cemetery at Thorntown. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday.
