Ward - Joseph

Ladoga 19 April -- Joseph W. Ward, age 91, ill since last February, died Saturday night at 5:15 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Donald Henry, where he has lived for the past twenty years, of complications. Mr. Ward was born July 9, 1850, in Union County at Liberty, Ind., the son of David G. and Eleanor Ward. On Dec. 22, 1881, he married Martha Ellen Bratton of near Mace, who died Aug. 31, 1912. Mr. Ward was a member and an elder in the Ladoga Presbyterian Church. Surviving, besides his daughter, Mrs. Henry, are: another daughter, Mrs. Lola Bortz of Indianapolis; a son, Homer Ward of Linden, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the family residence with the Rev. Harold Quigley in charge. Burial will be in Mace Cemetery.
