The funeral of Jerry M. Ward, formerly of New Richmond and Lafayette who died suddenly of a heart attack Friday at his home in Indianapolis was conducted from the Christian Church in New Richmond Monday afternoon; burial in New Richmond cemetery. Mr. Ward who was 65 years old was employed by the Central Union Telephone Company in Indianapolis. He left Lafayette about 15 years ago having been employed by an interurban company during his residence here. He had made many friends in Lafayette. Born in New Richmond, Nov 19, 1866, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ward. Two brothers survive: William of Clarks Hill and James of Kankakee. Elvin Ward of the Ward and Anderson Store is a nephew and he also leaves several nieces here. – kbz
