Linden- Homer Bratton Ward, 69, prominent Montgomery County farmer, died Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette where he had been a patient 2 days. Born Jan 1, 1892 in Boone County, Mr. Ward married Myrtle F. Everson June 1, 1918. He attended school in Montgomery County. He was a veteran of WWI and member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. In recent years, Mr. Ward had farmed east of Linden. Previously he was engaged in farming in the Whitesville community. In 1959 his present farm was the scene of the Indiana Farm Management tour. Approximately 1500 persons visited the farm on this occassion. Survivors include the widow; a son, Richard H. Ward, Rt 5, Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Clint Wilkins, Rt 1, Linden, two grandsons, two granddaughters and two sisters, Mrs. John Scott of New Palestine and Mrs. Opal Henry of Los Angeles Calif. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home at Darlington with Rev. Maxie Smith of Darlington and Rev. D.C. Murphy of Linden in charge. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m .Wednesday.

Darlington – Funeral services for Homer Bratton Ward were held Thursday afternoon at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington. Rev. Maxie Smith of Darlington and Rev. DC Murphy of Linden officiated. Selections played by Curtis Bright, organist included requested numbers, How Great Thou Art and Face to Face. Pallbearers were Ward Wilkins of Linden, Russell Muller of Rochester, Clayton Ward and Larry Sheaffer of Crawfordsville and Clyde Vannice, Russell Hunsicker and Ray Anderson of Darlington. They also assisted with the flowers. Burial was in the Linden cemetery. Mr. Ward died Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette where he had been a patient two days
