John A. Warbinton died at the home of his son, Elmer Warbinton in this city on Monday evening Aug 9, 1915 at 8:30 o’clock from a complication of diseases and old age. He was aged 82 years 11 months and 9 days. Mr. Warbinton was born Aug 25, 1833 in Crawfordsville, Indiana where he made his home until moving to Kansas in 1881. He was united in marriage to Miss Eliza M. Ward in 1865. To this union were born 8 children, six of whom survive. His faithful companion died at the home of Mrs. CC Richart about 25 years ago. Mr. Warbinton has been very feeble for several years but has been able to be around until recently He had a sick spell at the home of his daughter, Mrs. French near Hallowell and had recovered to be able to come to town. He was only able to be up town once after returning. Several years ago he was one of our prosperous farmers and had the superintendency of the County Poor Farm for a number of years. He leaves three sons, Bert of Shawnee, Ok; Ed of Lone Wolf, Ok; and Elmer of this city and three daughters, Mrs. Joe French of near Hallowell; Mrs. Bob Murphy of Denver, Col and Mrs. George Guntle of Oswego to mourn his loss. The funeral services were held at the residence of Elmer Warbinton on Wed Aug 11 conducted by Rev. CM Thomas of the Christian Church and interment was made in the Pleasant Valley cemetery beside his wife. - kbz
