Walton - William

William Walton, 83 years old, died at the Soldiers Home, Danville, Ill., at 11:20 o'clock this morning according to a telegram received in this city. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Walton was born in Iowa and when he was 23 years of age, he enlisted in the Union army and took part in many engagements during the civil war. At the close of the war he came to Crawfordsville and lived here up to a few months ago when he took up his residence in the Soldiers Home. During the recent years of his residence here , Mr. Walton made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ida Suitors, wife of Charles A. Suitors, 302 west Lincoln street. The remains will be brought here from Danville and funeral arrangements will be announced later. - kbz
