Walter - Henry - 1898

At noon Thursday Henry Walter died at his home five miles northwest of the city. He had been ill since last August, but his sickness had been critical only since last Friday.
Henry Walter was born in Butler County, Ohio, April 9, 1820, but when he was eight years of age he came to this state with his parents and settled on the farm where he died, having lived there honored and beloved by the neighborhood for seventy long years. When twenty five years of age he was married to Miss Susan Dixon, who survives him. Eight children were born to them, five of whom still live. They are James P. Walter, John Walter, Mrs. Wm Q. Oneall of Yountsville, Mrs. George S. Steele, and Mrs. George T. Durham.
Mr. Walter was a consistent member of the Methodist Church and his life was one of a nature in accordance with his professions. He was a man of much more than ordinary intelligence and had great influence not only in his neighborhood but all over the county. He was consistent and strong in all things and will long be remembered as a good citizen, a good friend, and a good Christian. -s
