Mrs. Sarah Ann Wallace, relict of William K. Wallace, died Wednesday at 7 o’clock p.m. at the family home, 204 West Pike Street. She was 79 years of age and her death had been expected for several days. The funeral will occur at the home this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Dr. Cook will conduct the services and the interment will be at the Masonic Cemetery.  Mrs. Wallace had long been an esteemed resident of this city and her death will be deeply deplored. She leaves four children, W. K. Wallace, Mrs. George Fitchey, Mrs. Lucy Fry, and John Wallace. - "S"

Mrs. Sarah Ann Wallace, the widow of William K. Wallace, passed away at 6:15 o’clock Wednesday evening at her home on West Pike Street. She was an old and honored citizen, having been a resident of Crawfordsville for nearly half a century. The deceased was born in Fayette County Ky in 1822, and at the age of 20 years was united in marriage to WK Wallace. They came to Crawfordsville in 1851. Her husband died in 1872 and of the nine children born to them but 4 survive: William K, John, Mrs. Lucy Fry and Mrs. Alice Fitchey, all of this city. Mrs. Wallace was an Episcopalian and her life was marked by her faithfulness and devotion alike to her church, her children and her friends. Despite her advanced years she enjoyed good health until one week ago when she was taken with a fatal illness in the form of congestion.   The funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon by Dr. WF Cook.  Interment at Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
