Wallace - Crettie Snyder

Mrs. Crettie Snyder Wallace, 68, widow of James Wallace, died at 7:40p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital. She was taken there after she suffered a heart attack on Wednesday, May 26. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace were active for a number of years in the affairs of the Ben Hur Life Association. At one time Mr. Wallace was superintendent of the Ben Hur Home. Born Sept. 22, 1883 at Nashville, Mo., Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Snyder. She moved to Indiana when she was young and was married June 20, 1900, to James Albert Wallace. Mrs. Wallace had been active for many years in the affairs of the Christian Science Church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the Neighborhood Club. The survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Albert B. Karle of near Crawfordsville; a son, Aaron S. Wallace of San Francisco; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Roxie S. Long of Walnut Creek, California. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 7, 1933, and a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Everson, on June 25, 1952. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Laura Gilkey; two brothers, John C. Snyder and Frank Snyder, and several nieces. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
