NEW ROSS – Mrs. Myrtle Walker, 76, of New Ross died Tuesday afternoon in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was admitted to the hospital after suffering injuries from a fall at a nursing home Sunday. Mrs. Walker and her late husband, Albert, operated the A & M Walker Grocery here for many years. She was a member of Jamestown Order of Eastern Star and New Ross Christian Church. She was born Mar. 17, 1898, in Illinois, a daughter of Jesse and Sylvia Johnson Miller. She married Albert Walker on May 12, 1915, at Crawfordsville. He died in 1962. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Betty Lou) Poland of New Ross; a sister, Ozella M. Wren of Greencastle; two granddaughters, Mrs. Jean White of Lincoln, Ill., and Wayne Poland of Rye, N.Y.; and a niece. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Walker Funeral Home at Jamestown with burial at New Ross. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. – jlr
