New Ross - Albert G. Walker, 67-year-old New Ross merchant, died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday (Nov 13th) in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after an illness of aobut 4 months. Mr. Walker owned and operated the A&M Walker Grocery Store here the past 31 years. He was in the restaurant and grocery business here all his life. From 1918 until 1924 he operated a restaurant here. He later worked at Owen Everman Grocery 7 years. He was a member of New Ross Methodist Church and Conservation Club. He also was a charter member of New Ross Volunteer Fire Department. During his youth he played baseball in Indiana and Illinois. Born Dec 2, 1894 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Zachariah and Nancy Stewart Walker. He was married May 12, 1915 to Myrtle Miller at Crawfordsville. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Harold Poland of New Ross and sister, Mrs. Paul Threlkeld of New Ross. The body was taken to the Walker Funeral Home at Jamestown where friends may pay their respects after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
