Waveland, Ind – The body of Wesley Walden, 71, who drowned in a canal at Hialeah, Fla was enroute here today for funeral and burial Monday.  Walden, a farmer in Greene Township, Parke County most of his life was killed when his auto plunged into the canal when Walden was blinded by lights from another car. – kbz

Crawfordsville – Aug 22 – Wesley Walden, 71, a farmer in the Greene Township neighborhood in Parke County most of his life drowned Wednesday in a canal at Haleah, Fla. It was believed by investigators that his car plunged into the canal when he lost control after being blinded by the lights of another automobile.  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland.  Burial will be in the Russellville Cemetery.  He is survived by the widow Mrs. Bessie Walden; two sons, Floyd Walden of New Orleans La and Marion Walden of Hialeath; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Jacks of Albon, Mich and Mrs. Robert Mason of Crawfordsville; four sisters,  Mrs. Joan Walker of Indianapolis, Mrs. Adie Smiley of New York City, Mrs. Vivian Barcus of San Diego, Calif and Mrs. Juaneta Bagley of San Francisco, Calif; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. – kbz
