Walden - Alva

Alva Walden, who is well known here, died at his home in Clinton on Friday. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday, burial at the Russellville Cemetery. Mr. Walden was born near Glasgow, Ky., but has lived in Indiana for many years. he lived on farms in this neighborhood, carried on a coal business in Crawfordsville and was connected with coal mining in Clinton. While there he had a hand mangled and a coal tipple and later suffered terrible burns when caught under an auto. he has been in poor health for several years but was always cheerful. He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Dona Perkins and one son, Harold. A daughter is buried in Russellville. -- kbz
