Wakefer - Mary

-- The funeral services of the late Mrs. Mary Wakefer will be conducted Wed at St. Bernar'ds Church by Father Dempsey. He will be assisted by Father McCabe, of Otterbein who will preach the sermon. There will be a soleumn requium mass at 9 o'clock Father Wakefer celebrant; Father McCabe, deacon, Father Connelley of Logansport subdeacon. Mrs. Wakefer was a most excellent woman and devoted the best years of her life in giving her son an education and preparing him for the ministry. She was born in Ireland 60 years ago last October and came to Crawfordsville in 1873, where she has since resided. She was a quiet unobtrusive christian woman and devoted mother, in giving her son to the ministry she did much toward making the world better for her having lived in it. The following persons accompanied the remains from Dunkirk where the deceased has lived for the past few months with her son: Messrs John Hays, Jno. T. McGarrell, Matthew Hart, Lawrence Rock, Nicholas May, Thomas Currin and Mesdames Jane Hart, Jno. Hays, Wm. Smith and Mrs. Harrington. -- typed by kbz
