The death of Dr. Hiram Waite occurred Friday night at the Soldier’s Home at Danville, Ill to which place he was taken only a few days before his death. Dr. Waite had been paralyzed for a number of years and received a pension of $72 per month on account of total disability. He was born in Kentucky in 1835 and was a soldier of the Civil War, being a member of Co K 15th Illinois cavalry. He was married to Anna Tanner in 1866. He leaves three children: Oscar Waite of Cloverdale, Ky and Mrs. Will Drury and Mrs. CC Crider of this city. The remains were brought to this city from Danville Saturday night and the funeral was held at the residence of Mrs. CC Crider Sunday at 3 o’clock, Rev. Wallace Tharp official - kbz

Word was received here at 9 o'clock last Saturday of the death of Dr. Hiram Waite which occurred at the soldiers' home at Danville Ill Friday. The body was brought here on the midnight train and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. CC Crider on South Green Street where the funeral took place last Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dr. Thapr officiated. Dr. Waite was born in KY, Oct 15, 1835 and was a member of the Christian Church for 35 years. He was a soldier in the Civil War, being a private of Co. K, 15th Reg Ill Vol. Cav. He was married to Miss Anna Tanner, Jan 25, 1866. Three chidren survive him, Oscar of Covedale, Ky; Mrs. CC Crider and Mrs. Will Drury, of this city, who have the sympathy of a host of friends. - typed by kbz
