William Thornton Watson died at the home of James Green on Wednesday, after many weeks of suffering. Mr. Watson was born in Ky. in Feb 1815. His wife died some 15 years ago, and their only son d. in 1864. He was an elder in the Waveland Presby. Church for many yeas, but when the Alamo Church was organized, because of its weakness in numbers he transferred his membership to that Church, in which he served as an elder until his death. He was a modest, unpretentious, Christian gentleman, and the community is better for his having lived in it. Funeral services were held yesterday, conducted by Rev. LF Galey. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
