Dr. Watson, whose illness was noted in a late issue,
died in Lakeview hospital, Danville, Ill., on Thursday of last week. He
was the son of David E. Watson and Mary E. Hanna, and was born on what
is known as the Adam Hanna farm, lately owned by Charles Hannah, just
north of town, in 1863. He was graduated from Wabash College and Rush
Medical College of Chicago, and took up practice at West Lebanon in Warren
County, and continued there until compelled to give up practice on
account of deafness. He has since resided in Danville.
Mrs. Watson died in 1916, and he left no near
relatives. Dr. A. J. Kleiser and Albert Kleiser were cousins, as was also Mrs.
U. G. Vail of Crawfordsville. Mrs. Vail was the daughter of Adam Hanna.
Two other cousins, Mrs. Lina Demaree Preston of Los Angeles and
Miss Mary Demaree of India were daughters of Scott Demaree, who at one time
lived in this community.
