Watson - James Buchanan

Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana

The body of James Buchanan Watson was brought here from  Chrisman, Ill., on Wednesday and interred by the side of his  mother, Mrs. Jane Myers, in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Although not  born here Mr. Watson spent his youth and early manhood in  Waveland. His mother was a daughter of John Lough, and they lived  for a number of years in the house now owned by W.R. Kelso. The  old Lough homestead is where Wm. Wiatt now owns. Mr. Watson was  sixty years old. The cause of his death was heart trouble. He had  been a business partner of W.N. Newkirk, at Chrisman, for 17  years. He was also the owner of the Empire Theater at that place,  one of the finest and most successful photo playhouses in  Illinois. - transcribed by kbz
