Napoleon B. Ware died at his residence south. of town Sunday morning
at 5. He has been in poor health for over two years, having
contracted blood poisoning while nursing his son who died of that
disease at Gila, Ill in March 1908. He was seized with vertigo
while in Waveland, a week before his death and was thenceforward
confined to his bed. On Saturday evening, he was feeling much better. At
half past 4 Mrs. Ware was awakened by his gasping for breath. He
remained unconscious until his death. The funeral services were held at
the home at 2 on Tues aftersoon, Rev WH Fertich officiating. The services at
the grave in the Jarvis Cemetery were in charge of Waveland Lodge No
217 IOOF [Independent Order of Odd Fellows] . Mr. Ware was born in Parke County Nov 25, 1852 and has lived in
that County. most of his life. He married Sallie E. Crutchfield,
Dec 9, 1873. They moved to Gila, ILL about 12 years ago, where
the wife and mother died. Mr. Ware returned to Indiana about 2 years ago.
Jan 14, 1908 he married Mrs. Eliza Jarvis who survives him. He is
also survived by his aged father, John D. Ware, his son, Leslie
& 7 grandchildren. He was converted in a revival in Waveland and
joined the Methodist Episcopal Church about 20 years ago. He was also a
member in good standing at Waveland Lodge of Odd Fellows and
Siloam Rebekah Lodge. His brothers in the lodge esteemed him
highly, while his kindly disposition made friends for him of all
