Miss Laura Wardell died at the home of her brother-in-law,  E.O. Stansbury, on E. Green St on Sat. eve about midnight. Miss  Wardall has been an invalid for a number of years, her hip having  been broken about 15 years ago. The direct cause of her death was  an attack of influenza in the late winter. She was born in  Springfield, Ill. Mary 28, 1851. She was a sister of the late  Mrs. E.O. Stansbury who died last fall. She is survived by two  sisters, Miss Lizzie Wardall of this place, and Mrs. Katie  Morehouse of NY City. A brief funeral service was conducted at  the home on Monday afternoon by Rev. H.R. Sigler. The body was  taken to Tuscola, Ill, Tuesday morning for burial. Services at  the grave were conducted by Rev. Edwin Geer of the Baptist  Church. The party consisted of Mr. Stansbury, Miss Lizzie  Wardall, Miss Sophronia McMurtry and Edwin McClelland. A nephew,  Albert Sawyer of St. Matthews, Ky was here Monday. A niece, Miss  Harriet Sawyer of Poughkipsie, NY was here last week but as she  is sec-treas. of the Vassar Alumni Assoc, she was compelled to  return.
