VEEDERSBURG – The body of Vincent Walton, 38, a mechanic for Max Carr of Sterling, was found in a small creek near here at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday. Fountain County Coroner Dr. Walter Kinser today said his investigation was not complete. The body was found about four feet from one side of the creek by Robert Warrick, who was walking on the Penn Central Railroad near the stream. Warrick told police he was walking near a tressle above the creek when he noticed the body lying face down. Walton was born in Oakwood, Ill., on Nov. 30, 1934, a son of Chester and Elsie Hicks Walton. He served in the U. S. Marines for four years before being discharged in 1956. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hampton of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Margaret Osborne of Danville, Ill. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson Funeral Home at Oakwood, Ill., with the Rev. Don Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
