Mrs. Wilhelmina Verhey, wife of Charles Verhey of Shadeland passed away at 8 o’clock Tuesday evening, September 29, A week before her death she received a trivial scratch on one of the fingers of her left hand while at her work. The wound became infected, blood poisoning ensued, resulting in her death. Mrs. Verhey’s maiden name was Greenburg, and leaves a brother and sister, Charles Greenburg of Linden and Mrs. Frank Orton of Unadilla, Neb. Mrs. Verhey was born in Germany in 1848 and came direct to Indiana in 1866. She was married to Charles Verhey in 1872. She leaves the husband but no children. She was a devout member of St - Ann’s church of LaFayette, from which place the funeral occurred at 9 o’clock Thursday morning. The The interment was made in St, Mary’s cemetery.- kz
