Martin H. Veatch, 75, of 1000 W. Pike St., died at 5:25 a.m. today in Ben Hur Nursing Home. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Veatch in New York. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Miller. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Veatch was a co-owner of Veatch & Pinkerton International Harvester 1940-1971. He was an avid horse enthusiast for the past 30 years. He was a member and past trustee of First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Montgomery Lodge 50 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, the Crawfordsville Elks and the United States Trotting and Pacing Horse Association. He served on the Crawfordsville School Board. He was graduated from Pittsboro High School and attended Indiana University. Born July 1, 1905, at Pittsboro, he was a son of John and Ova Dickerson Veatch. He was married to Bertha Herrick. He was married in 1940 to Pauline Staley, who preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Veatch of New York. smc
