Crawfordsville, Ind Nov 9 – Two girls were killed and a young man probably fatally injured here this afternoon when a passenger train on the Big Four railroad struck an automobile at a crossing. The dead: Mary Whalen, 19 and Louise VanScoyoc, 12. Leslie Van Scoyoc, 17, driver of the automobile and brother of Louise, is expected to die from his injuries. - kbz

Crawfordsville, Nov 10 – An inquest opened here today into the deaths of Louise VanScoyoc, 12 and Mary Whalen, 19 who were killed late yesterday when their car was hit by a train here. Leslie VanScoyoc, 17 was in the hospital with a fractured skull but was given a chance for recovery by the physicians today. - kbz
