Vanscoyoc - Eliza McCormick

Darlington, June 23 - Mrs. Eliza VanScoyoc, 79, died at 8 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oran Cox, 4 miles NW of Darlington. Mrs. VanScoyoc was born in Montgomery County, Oct 25, 1851, and has spent her entire life in this county. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McCormick. She was married Dec 24, 1868 to Newton VanScoyoc, who preceded her in death several years ago (note from KZ - died March 1894). She was a member of the Linnsburg Christian Church. Surviving are 5 children: William of Crawfordsville; Harry of Jeffersonville, Mo; Homer of Indianapolis; Mrs. Lena Clark of Thorntown and Mrs. Lydia Cox of Darlington at whose home Mrs. VanScoyoc died. One child died in infancy. In addition, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of Oran Cox here. Burial will take place at Mace Cemetery - kbz
