Darlington – Everett Brian “Hooky” Vannice, 83 of 204 Adams Street, Darlington died Saturday in Culver Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Vannice was a retired farmer and member of Congregational Christian Church.  He was born Aug 15, 1896 in Montgomery County, a son of William and Minnie Buchanan Vannice.  He attended Highview school ear Darlington.  On March 10, 1921, he was married at Darlington to the former Mary Mahoy who survives.  Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Glendon (Norma) McKinney of Clayton and Mrs. Larry (Joy) Cain and Mrs. Gene (Mary Ellen) Harmon, both of Darlington; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Burkhart Funeral Home Darlington Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
