Julia Beeson Van Ness died peacefully on Saturday (March 28, 2009) with family at her side. She was 81 years old.
She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on Oct. 8, 1927 to Carroll O. Beeson and Elizabeth Deer Beeson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister. She married Albert Lyle Van Ness on June 9, 1951. He survives.
She is also survived by her children, Paul Beeson Van Ness, Stephanie (David) Van Ness Meara, Jonathan Lyle Van Ness and Julia (Gregg) Van Ness Aleman; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1945. She attended Christian College in Columbia, Mo., obtaining her associate's degree in education. She immediately enrolled at Butler University, graduating with a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in elementary education.
