William (Bill) VanHook, 64, Waveland died Wednesday morning Jan 22, 1964 in the Indiana Hospital for Chest Diseases at Rockville. he had been in failing health for the past two years. Mr. VanHook was a carpenter by trade and had lived in Wavleand for the past several years. Born March 24, 1900, near Carpentersville, Mr. VanHook was the son of Samuel H. and Marthy Ashley VanHook. On September 10, 1918, he married Rachel Hubbard in Greencastle. Mr. VanHook was preceded in death by a son, William VanHook, Jr. Survivors include the widow, 5 daughters, Mrs. Berniece Albright; Mrs. Hazel Witt; Mrs. Thelma Butler; Mrs. Elizabeth Albright and Mrs. Stella Harris; 27 grandchildren and 7 greats. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m .Friday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home; burial in Roachdale.
