Once again the death angel has been in our midst and this time visited the home of Richard VanHook and took away his wife, Minnie who awoke Oct 22, 1899 at Judson, Indiana and fell asleep, Sept 5, 1931 in the arms of Jesus, Who says, "Come unto me all ye that are weary and heavy laden, I will give you rest. Minnie was taken sick on August 1. She bore her suffering without murmering or complaining, always looking to the Lord and asking him to bless her. We would say to those who weep, sorrow not, for Minnie is in Heaven where there is one eternal love. At an early age she united with the Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Indiana and lived an upright life and was prepared to go when the end came. She was married March 10, 1918, to Richard VanHook, who with four children and one sister survive: Russell, age 12; Cleo 10; Naomi 5 and Maxine 10 months, the sister, Mary Applegate of Riverside, California. Only a few hours before she left this world she bid everyone good bye and told her husband not to weep and closed her eyes in sleep
