James Vandever died at his home on West Howard Street at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning after lingering a long time with consumption. He was interred at the Presbyterian Cemetery yesterday morning after funeral services at the Christian Church by Rev. EE Moorman. Mr. Vandever was born near Portland Mills about 1853, and was a painter by trade. April 16, 1875, he married Miss Kate Ann Lewis, who survives him.
