Former resident expires in the west. William M. VanCleave, 76, succumbs at Vinita, Okla. William M. VanCleave, 76, former resident of Montgomery county, died at his home in Vinita, Okla., Wednesday morning. Death was due to pneumonia and followed an illness of ten days. Mr. VanCleave moved to Oklahoma about 15 years ago after spending all the earlier part of his life in this county. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ransom VanCleave. He was married to Miss Josephine Hardee many years ago. His wife preceded him in death by about ten years. Mr. VanCleave was a member of the Primitive Baptist church. He was a farmer all of his life. The survivors include two sons, Bernard and Lorin, both of Vinita; a daughter, Nellie, who also lives in Vinita; three brothers, Jesse and Jonathan, both of New Market, and Adam, of Alamo, and four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Davis, of Alamo, Mrs. Shelby Hicks and Mrs. Betty Hardee, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Eva Airhart, of New Market. A number of nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services and burial will take place in Vinita. - kbz
