Will Vancleave dead Death comes to former resident of county in Texas - Brother of James and Bert of this city William H. Vancleave, aged 54, formerly a resident of this county, died at the home of his son, Frank, of Chester, Texas, according to word received by relatives here. The remains have been taken to Norton, Kansas, where the deceased was in charge of the Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Vancleave was well known in this county where be lived most of his life. He was the son of Alfred and Catherine Sayler Vancleave, and was married to Miss Della Porter, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. B. Porter of Ladaga and Waynetown. The widow and four children survive. They are Frank, Chester, Tex.; Hervy, Nebraska; Clarence, Lowell. and one daughter, Linnie, at home. Five brothers also survive: James and Bert, of this city; John, Tennessee; Sam, Oxford, O., and George, who used to be on the police force of this city, but now of Marion, Ind. Both parents of the deceased are dead. Several years ago Mr. Vancleave lived in this city. He was a big hearted, whole souled fellow who counted his friends by his acquaintances. It has often been said of him that he was generous to fault. He was a great lover of nature and whenever it was Possible he came back to Indiana with his family and lived at some picturesque and beautiful spot along the creek during the hot days of the summer. His friends in this city will be grieved to hear of his death many of whom have spent many happy hours with him fishing along the creek, as this was his favorite recreation. - kbz
