After thirty years of pain and suffering Thomas F. Vancleave died Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from a complication of diseases at his home on Simpson street. Mr. Vancleave had been an invalid ever since he had suffered from typhoid fever early in the seventies and death came as a great relief to him. Thomas Florian Vancleave was born on March 6, 1850, on the farm home of his parents, Aaron and Elizabeth Vancleave, near Waveland. His early life was spent on the farm and he was educated at home and the country school. On July 26, 1870, Mr. Vancleave married Cynthia Denman, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Denman, of near Alamo. Mr. and Mrs. Vancleave moved to Crawfordsville in 1880, and have lived here ever since. Mr. Vancleave was a strong member of the Baptist church and always a good Citizen, with clear, well expressed ideas of justice. He was a kind and affectionate father and loved by all who knew him. His mother, Mrs. Aaron Vancleave, his wife and two children, Mrs. Mattie Carver and Henry Vancleave, survive him. Dr. E. L. Vancleave, of Rockville, and William and Henry Vancleave of this city are brothers of the deceased. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 3:30 at the home on Simpson street. Dr. Wallace Tharp, of this city, and Rev. Leonard Galey, of Waveland, officiated. The interment was at Oak Hill. - kbz
