Sarah A.VanCleave was born February 20, 1883, and, died June 4, 1910, aged 77 years, 3 months and 14 days. She was married to Simeon T. VanCleave September 28, 1858. To this union were born four sons, J. B., Benjamin F., Van and Gideon M. Her husband preceded her to the heavenly home on March 5, 1900. She united with the Presbyterian church at Browns Valley in May, 1863, after a while this church disbanding her membership was then transferred to Parkersburg, where she was member for a number of years. Later she with her husband united with the Presbyterian church at Crawfordsville, and, it being too far for her to attend services at her own church she united with M. E. church at New Market in the winter of 1908. She was a devoted and faithful servant of the Master. And her example of Christian piety and reverence for God is worthy of the emulation of her children and grandchildren. She was a true companion, a kind and loving mother, and a good kind neighbor. She was prepared and ready for the Master's call, for she said to one of her sons a few days before the passed away that she was prepared and waiting patiently for the time to come. - kbz
