Vancleave - Ralph

Ralph Vancleave, the 5th of 9 children born to Jonathan and Elizabeth Vancleave was born July 30, 1834, and died at his home in Wingate July 3d, 1903, aged 68 years 4 months and 3 days. he had been a sufferer for 2 or 3 years with a complicated trouble, weak lungs and brights disease. He bore his trouble bravely and said, "If it was the Lord's will to call him away, he was ready, although he would like to stay with his family if he could be well." He was highly respected in the different neighbrhoods inw hich he lived. He was married April 16, 1854, to Catharine Coons and this union was blessed with 12 children, 7 of whom are still living. In laying this loved one to rest his companion and these chidren will realize that their dearest friend is gone. One who was always near and dear to them. He leaves a companion, 7 children, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 10 grandchildren besides a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. The funeral occurred Sunday at the Christian Church in Wingate by J.L. Miller. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near the church. "R"
