Norman A. VanCleave, 82, of 905 Vandalia Street died Tuesday night at the Carmen Nursing Home here. He had been a patient there 10 days. Mr. VanCleave had been retired for many years. He had been employed at the old shirt factory here before his retirement. Born Jan 2, 1888 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Frank and Emma McGregg VanCleave. He attended Crawfordsville schools. He was married in 1915 in Spencer, Ind to the former Pearl Cassida. She survives. Mr. Vancleave was a member of the Crawfordsville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home here. Dr. Clarence Strothers, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Friends make donations to Rev. and Mr. Fred Anderson missionaries in Pago Pago American Samoa. Donations may be made either at the funeral home or church. - kbz
