Vancleave - Mary Price

The news that Mrs. Mary Price Vancleave, wife of Charles N. Vancleave, 308 West Market street, general agent of the New York Life Insurance Company, had died Monday night caused the residents of this city a distinct shock as few knew that her death was likely to occur or that her condition was alarming. She had been ill for about three weeks with congestion of the lungs. About a week ago she grew worse, but her near relatives did not think her condition critical. She grew worse after eight Monday evening and at ten she died. She was the daughter of the late Michael Price and was a well known and most estimable society woman in this city being a: member of the Musical Amateurs, the Art League and several other rganizations, and active member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband. who is well known all over the state, and her two children, Misses Mae and Inez; her mother, Mrs. Jane Price; one brother, Bernard Price; city councilman, and three sisters. Mrs. Deering of Chicago, and Miss Margaret Price and Miss Jennie Price of this city. The funeral will take place at St. Bernard’s Church on Thursday morning at nine and will be in charge of Rev. father T.M. Conroy, pastor of the church, with interment at Calvary Cemetery. - kbz
