Janesville, Wis. - Leon Van Cleave, 76, of Janesville, a native of Wingate, Ind., died Thursday in Carlyle Nursing Home at Veloip, Wis. Mr. Van Cleave had lived at Rockport, Ill., four years and prior to that had lived in Rockton, Ill. He had been a salesman for Ralston Foods since 1947, retiring in 1976. He had been employed many years with Fairbanks Morse at Beloit, Wis. He was a member of Beloit Elks, serving as secretary. He attended Sunn High School. Born March 9, 1902, at Wingate, he was a son of George and Wynnie Phillips Van Cleave. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A.P. Nichols of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Marvin Speer, of Janesville and Mrs. Robert Vierck of Crystal Lake, Ill.,; a sister, Mrs. F.M. Mason of Evanston, Ill.; two nieces; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John Vianny Catholic Church in Janesville. The Schneiaer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia Foundation - kbz
