Wingate, Feb. 12, 1927 -- Jonathan F. Van Cleave, 72, a cabinet maker, died at his home here at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon. His death followed an illness of six months with heart trouble, but he had been about as usual up to last Wednesday. Mr. Van Cleave was widely known as a cabinet manufacturer and had a wide circle of friends in this vicinity. He was born on January 28, 1855, in Parke county, the son of Ralph and Catherine Van Cleave. He was married on January 15, 1878 to Mary Frances Coons of New Market. He is survived by his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Coons of near Crawfordsville; Mrs. Anna Goff of near Elmdale, and Mrs. Emma Moore of Waynetown, and two brothers, Henry Van Cleave of Lawrence and George Van Cleave of Chicago. The funeral will be held from the Wingate Christian church at eleven o'clock Monday morning, in charge of the Rev. C.L. Airhart. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. - kbz
