John B. Vancleave a long resident of the county died at his home on W. Market Street Saturday afternoon about 4:30. The end came while Mr. Vancleave was sitting in the swing on his porch talking. He suddenly fell over and died immediately. Heart disease is the cause of the death. He was 56. Mr. Vancleave formerly lived about 5 miles south of the city, on the Greencastle Road but moved a little over a year ago to his residence on W. Market. He was in rather bad health at the time and has steadily declined. However his death was unexpected, as he was apparently in as good health Saturday as he had been. He leaves a wife, Nancy Vancleave and 4 children to mourn his death: Floyd who lives on the farm from which Mr. Vancleave moved; June Thompson who lives northwest of Yountsville; Bertha Surface whose residence is four miles south of town; and Mary who is living with her mother at home. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 fro m the home, Rev. CB Stanforth will have charge of the funeral services. Interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery, Mr. Vancleave was a member of the local order of Odd Fellows. - kbz

Heart disease, striking its vicitim suddenly, caused the death Saturday afternoon at 4:30 of John F. VANCLEAVE. Mr. Vancleave was sitting in a swing on the porch at his home on W. Market Street and was talking when suddenly he pitched forward, his head falling limply over. He was dead before those present could reach him. John Vancleave was 56 years of age at his death. Until about a year ago, he lived on the Greencastle Rd, about 5 miles out from the city but later moved to the residence onMarket Street. He had been in declining health but no thought was held by his friends that death was near. Saturday he was in his usual health for the past few weeks. Nancy Vancleave, the widow together with four children, remain to mourn his death. June Thompson of NW of Yountsville; Floyd who lives ont heo ld farm on the Greencastle Road; Bertah Surface of 4 miles South of here and Mary At home. John B. Vancleave, who died Saturday at his home on W. Market street was buried yesterday afternoon in Oak Hill Cemetery. The services were held at the family home at 2 o'clock and many friends and relatives of the deceased man were present. Rev. CB Stansforth had charge of the services at the home. Four children and his wife survive the dead man. - kbz
