Vancleave - Grace Wood

Mrs. Grace Agnes VanCleave, 92, a Waynetown residence since 1951, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had been for about a month after fracturing an ankle at her home. Mrs. VanCleave had taught school for several years at Mellott and Wingate. She was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church. She received her education in Fountain County schools. She was born Aug 3, 1875, near LaPorte, a daughter of Miles H. and Hanna M. Wiseman Wood. She married Henry T. VanCleave at Covington on July 13, 1918. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Nona Hayes and Mrs. Minnie Otis, both of Tuscon,AZ, two sisters, Mrs. Lois Earl of Los Angeles and Miss Belle Wood of Lafayette; two brothers, Joyce Wood of Portland OR and Mirbel Wood of Newtown; two grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sat at Servies Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Ray Rhoda officiating. Interment will be in Wayentown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
