Vancleave - Elizabeth Vancleave

Died, at her home in Brown Township, April 23, 1886, Mrs. Elizabeth VanCleave, wife of Elder Jonathan Vancleave, aged 82 years, 5 months and 13 days. She was born in Kentucky Nov 10, 1803, and was married to Jonathan Vancleave Sept 6, 1827. She came to Indiana (and settled on the farm where she died) November 27, 1827. She joined the Old School Baptist Church the third Sunday in July, 1842. She was a consistent church member, a good and kind companion, an e(a)ffectionate mother and good neighbor, and will be very much missed by her husband, children and neighbors, and the church, as they are left to mourn her loss, but they do not mourn as these that have no hope. Her funeral was preached by Elders Wm. H. Darnell and J. Swearingen. Her remains were followed to the tomb by a large and sorrowing congregation. D. -- typed by kbz
