Elizabeth Vancleave, widow of Aaron M. Vancleave, died at her home in Brown township, four miles north of Waveland, on October 30, 1912, of the infirmities of old age. She was 87 years, two months and 25 days old at the time of her death. She was the mother of nine children, all of whom has preceded her to their last resting place except Henry D. Vancleave, an attorney of this city, and William A. Vancleave who resided with her at her home in Brown township. Mrs. Vancleave was united with the Freedom Baptist church in 1857 and lived a consistent member thereof until the date of her death. She leaves one brother, Jackson Hallet, of Brown township, and one sister, Mary J Smith, of Kokomo, Ind., as the only survivors of her father's family. The following grandchildren also survive: Mrs. Ethel M. Vancleave, of Rockville, Ind.; Frank Vancleave, of Waynetown; Harry A. Vancleave, of New Ross; and Mrs. Martha E. Carver, of this city. In life she was a strong character, devoted to her family. She was a faithful and affectionate mother, strong in counsel and always for the right. - typed by kbz
