Topeka, Kan., Journal: Edwin S. VanCleave, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. VanCleave, died last evening at his home at 836 North Kansas Avenue. His death was caused by injuries he received ten days ago when a railing on a second story porch broke, and he fell to the ground sustaining a dangerous fracture of the jaw and a concussion of the brain. He was twenty seven years of age and leaves a young wife.
For several months past he was employed on Street Commissioner Ramsey’s street cleaning force. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. and was secretary of the local lodge of the American Labor Union.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the residence of B. F. VanCleave, at 1310 Polk Street. The A. O. U. W. will assist in the services and members from that order, the labor union and the city street force will attend in a body. The burial will take place in Topeka Cemetery.
