Mrs. Cynthia Van Cleave passed away this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.B. Carter, near this city, after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Van Cleave was well known throughout this community where she spent most of her life. She was born near Alamo 70 years ago. Mrs. Van Cleave had been in ill health for the past few years but was able to be up and around until two weeks ago when her condition became serious. Deceased is survived by two children, Harry Van Cleave and Mrs. G.B. Carver, near the city; four sisters, Mrs. James Myers of Alamo; Mrs. Thomas Foster of Waveland; Mrs. William Payton near Whitesville; Mrs. Ad van Cleave of Crawfordsville, and one brother, William Denman, of Greencastle. She si survived by five grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death eighteen years ago.
