NEW MARKET - Miss Cora VanCleave, 78, a retired teacher, was fatally stricken at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at her home, 130 Brenda Ave., Crawfordsville. She had taught in Waterloo, Iowa, Crawfordsville and Ft. Wayne. A graduate of New Market High School, and Teachers College of Indianapolis, Miss VanCleave did graduate study at the University of Chicago and Indiana State Teachers College. She was a member of New Market Christian Church, Pythian Sisters and the National and Indiana Teachers associations. A native of near New Market, Miss VanCleave was born April 7, 1894 to Joseph A. and Mary Emma Busenbark VanCleave. Surviving is a nephew, Dr. Robert F Brown of Seattle, Wash. A sister, Anna Dee, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home here, with Rev. William Schalk the, minister and burial in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. Miss VanCleave left a request that memorials be in the form of donations to the Children's Home at Ladoga.- kbz
