Mrs. Cathryn (Katy) VanCleave, 95, lifelong resident of the county, died Tuesday morning a few minutes after midnight at the Jennie Cutts Home. Mrs. VanCleave was born Feb. 11, 1869, the daughter of David H. and Mary N. Groves. She was married July 27, 1898, to Bert H. VanCleave, who died July 27, 1941. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Women's Christian Fellowship of the church and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son, Harold P. VanCleave, who lives on the Waynetown Road; four grandchildren, Mrs. William Arnold, Robert W. VanCleave and Donald E. VanCleave of Crawfordsville and Charles David VanCleave of New Market and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two half-brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller of the First Christian Church in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday
