Vancleave - Catherine Saylor

Catherine A. (Saylor) Vancleave, widow of Allen (sic Alfred) Vancleave a resident of this city died at the home of a relative at Frankfort this morning. She had gone there to visit when she was stricken by paralysis and grew worse until she died. She and her husband lived near Alamo before they moved here. While in this city they kept a boarding house. She died at the home of her son George. The body will be brought here tomorrow afternoon at 1:15 and will be taken to the chapel of DC Barnhill's undertaking establishment on w. Main Street, where her friends may view the remains for an hour. The funeral will take place at the First Baptist Church at 2:30 on Tuesday. She is survived by 7 sons: James and Bert of this city; Rev. William of Oberlin, KS; Charles of Salida, Col; John of Memphis, Tenn and Samuel a traveling salesman with headquarter at St. Louis, The deceased was a nobld good woman who had a kind smile and pleasant word for all who knew her. -- kbz
