Funeral services for Mrs. WE Katie VanCleave, 87, of 36 W. Seminole will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Chaney's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Wilson and Adrian Kolean officiaitng. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Vancleave was born Oct 2, 1894 at Rossville, Indiana and was married at Crawfordsville April 2, 1908. Her husband preceded her in death Oct 23, 1906. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Maurine VanCleave McAlester and a great grandson, Taylor Conger, Big Springs, Tex. Her husband Dr. W. E. Vancleave was field physician for the Indians and they lived on the Sioux reservation in South Dakota and the Navajo reservation in New Mexcio before retiring to Oklahoma in 1938. He was superintendent at the Indian Sanitarium in Talihoma until retirement in 1942 when they moved to McAlester. Pallbearers will be Zappy Ott; Clif Byrant; S. Arch thompson; Don Echelle; GF Cathey and Denton McNutt.
